I remember when I was that 21yr old girl. I would guess she had never had a series of self defense, training of gun use and a license to carry. Most importantly I bet she was screaming out Jehovah's name for help...it never came. As in most patriarchial religions that "little voice" that tells you "don't do it!) had been repressed. She didn't stand a chance. I read a letter her mother wrote about how good Jehovah is and she will see them in paradise. Jehovah has given her peace. It makes me sick that their girls are such incapible targets. Jehovah must have been really busy that day. oops, I mean ever second of every day. To add insult, I'm sure the Memorial will be another advertisement for the orginization and Jehovah will "remember" her on the day of reserection day. Yup. Just like when she was being tortured, raped, sodomized and killed. It all makes me so sick and sad. This poor young girl died horribly and her mother and the organization just toot that stupid horn.

My ex-husband did not have a college degree but he was very smart. About 9 foreign langages fluently. Photographic memory and a really good ear for accent. He studied old Hebrew and Greek and Aramaic. He was a classial pianist. They LET him play the piano at the meetings. He never "advanced" to holding the mikes. When the tapes came out..no more piano. One guy and his wife invited us over to dinner. He later (after a couple of glasses of wine) said, "Well, Dave, what do you offer the congregation. You play the piano. That's it and that's over". This guy later was disfellowshipped after screwing his best friends wife. When Spain opened up both my husband and I were really excited as we both spoke Spanish. There was a lot of "who can go where the need is greater" going on. An elder approached both of us after a meeting and said, " Neither one of you accomplish much here, why would you consider going there?" I bottomed out. We both worked. Put in 40hrs/mo. Never enough, never enough. Would not let anyone get away with such trash talk now. Total assholes.

I enjoy them but I don't have "the spirit". The first few years I spent a fortune on my friends kids. I guess just trying to be accepted. Now I just go to the parties. They have no meaning for me but I love "get togethers". I don't do lights or trees. Kids don't go door to door on Halloween anymore...too dangerous...they go to the stores and the mall.

him and gramp had a falling out cause of the jw religion.. anyways, i had the funny feeling that my dad has been looking at things differently lately, but, i know he won't say much cause he's in way too deep at this point.. he came up to me the other night, and said he really loved me.

What would you do?
by screwproof ini have been going to another church now for quite a while, the elders do know this and confirmed this when they visited me over something else.
however i have no idea if i have been disfellowshipped or not, should i call them and find out, or just let it go?
i cant really say that it doesn't bother me, because i would like to know.
